Check the recommended weighted allowance for a two, three or four-player scramble. The tool sorts the supplied Course Handicaps, applies the Appendix C percentages for that team size and shows the total before event rounding. Confirm the final Playing Handicap with the organiser.

Enter four Course Handicaps
Use unrounded Course Handicaps for the course, tees and holes being played, as supplied for your event. Do not enter a Handicap Index or apply an allowance twice.
Golf “plus 2” means giving strokes back: enter -2. Enter 2 for two strokes received. Do not type a leading + sign. This tool accepts -100 to 100 with up to six decimal places; these are tool limits, not official handicap limits.

7.5 before rounding
Illustrative example: 5 × 25% + 10 × 20% + 15 × 15% + 20 × 10% = 7.5. This is not a confirmed competition Playing Handicap.

Keep the supplied decimal values and add the weighted contributions without rounding each player first. This page intentionally leaves the final event rounding and any further adjustments to the organiser.
Equal Course Handicaps keep their input order. Assigning different weights between identical values does not change the total.
See the arithmetic before using the result
Two-player example
Course Handicaps 10 and 20 contribute 3.5 + 3 = 6.5 before event rounding.
Three-player example
Course Handicaps 5, 10 and 20 contribute 1.5 + 2 + 2 = 5.5 before event rounding.
Four whole-number inputs
Course Handicaps 5, 10, 15 and 20 contribute 1.25 + 2 + 2.25 + 2 = 7.5 before event rounding. The weights belong to the sorted handicap values, not to the order the names appeared on a team sheet.
Why decimal inputs matter
Inputs 5.4, 10.2, 15.6 and 20.8 contribute 1.35 + 2.04 + 2.34 + 2.08 = 7.81. Rounding those inputs first to 5, 10, 16 and 21 gives 7.75 instead. Preserve the precision supplied for the event.
A golf plus handicap
Enter golf plus 2 as -2. With -2, 4, 12 and 20, the calculation is -0.5 + 0.8 + 1.8 + 2 = 4.1. A negative weighted total means strokes given back rather than received; the final competition treatment still needs confirmation.

The exact format, allowance and final rounding used in the Terms of Competition.
The correct Course Handicap values and any mixed-tee, differing-par or other event adjustments. This tool does not calculate those adjustments.
The holes being played. Do not halve an 18-hole result here to invent a nine-hole allowance.
Drive requirements, missing-player rules and any scramble variants. This page does not set those conditions or submit a handicap score.
A Handicap Index, Course Handicap and Playing Handicap are different numbers. This tool does not issue an official handicap, allocate strokes to holes, decide eligibility or replace a Committee ruling.

Need to calculate each player’s Course Handicap first? Use the Course Handicap calculator with the appropriate tee ratings and check the competition’s allowance and rounding rules before entering values here.
For individual hole points, use the separate Stableford points calculator; its scoring table does not apply to this scramble allowance.
